A Spanish house, an
Italian duchy, one thread.
A Spanish house that became Salentine — the Lopez y Royo, who held the land of Taurisano for three centuries. Ducali — of the dukes: a new name drawn from their title, made in the same country, in the same spirit.
Bartolomeo Lopez y Royo leaves Spain for the Kingdom of Naples, and settles in the Salento.
He buys the feudal lands of Taurisano and Monteroni, at the heel of Italy.
The barony is raised to a Duchy — the first Duca di Taurisano.
